Library:
Students visit the library every Thursday. They are permitted to borrow one French and one English book.
Some students are still finding it difficult to remember to return their books on time. If this is the case, please feel free to send in your child's library book on Wednesday.
Math
We began a new math unit this week (2D Geometry). Please look for the blue newsletter that is going home today. Specifically, I have outlined the math vocabulary on the back of the newsletter.
English Homework
Students do not have 'orange duotang' homework this week. Instead, their homework is to locate written works for their Bio Bag Presentations. I have reviewed the expectations with the class and modelled my own Bio Bag. The instructions, rubric and presentation calendar have gone home with students today. Presentations begin Tuesday April 2. (See below)
BioBag Assignment
What:
A BioBag
How:
Choose any written works that have been
important to you or that you love (you must
have at least five written works) and bring
them to school*. You might bring the first
book you could read by yourself, a letter
that you like to read over and over, a special
recipe, a favorite trading card, etc. Please
try to include a variety of written works.
Place all your items in a bag (the bag can
be special, too) and bring it to class to
share. You will get to tell the class why each
of the works is special to you and how it has
impacted your life.
